One-on-One Pistol Training

Manassas, Prince William County, and the DMV

You want to get better fast. You want simple steps. You want a coach who watches you and fixes your habits. That’s what our One-on-One Pistol Training is for. We keep it real, local, and safe—right here in Manassas, across Prince William County, and for trips into Fairfax, DC, and Maryland.

A quick story. A dad from Old Town Manassas came in after a close call in a parking lot. He said he felt that rush of fear and uncertainty and froze. In our first private session, we worked grip pressure & biomechanics, draw stroke efficiency, and a short dryfire diagnostics routine he could run at home in five minutes. Two weeks later he told me, “I’m calm now. I have a plan.” That’s the point—from fear to confident protector.

  • Parents who want a family-first safety framework

  • Women who prefer a quiet, women-only pace and space

What happens in a 1:1 session

We start with safety. The safety rules (4 rules), safe handling, range etiquette & RSO standards, and negligence avoidance—in plain words. Then we fit your gear: safe holster selection, belt setup, and appendix carry considerations vs strong-side.

We fix the core.

  • Trigger prep & reset so the gun stays still

  • Sight picture / sight tracking so hits land where you look

  • Recoil management so your sights return fast

  • Shot accountability at the distances you actually face

We add movement and handling(range-dependent).

  • Use of cover & concealment, corners, cars, pillars

  • Movement off the X without losing control

  • Malfunctions clearance (tap-rack) and reloads (emergency/tactical)

  • Low-light / handheld light techniques for garages and sidewalks

We measure progress.
Short tests with par times & standards, plus cold-start assessments. You’ll measure improvement every session.

Want homework? We love tools that make home practice easy: SIRT pistol drills, Mantis X10 Elite coaching, Laser Academy / LASR, Smokeless Range simulator, Strikeman Pro training, and Shot timer training.

Results you can feel (fast)

  • Build safe, repeatable gun handling you can trust

  • Clean up the draw and get a faster, safer draw-to-first-shot

  • Add real-world defensive skills that fit Prince William County lots, Fairfax garages, and DC sidewalks

  • Gain legal & ethical use of force clarity through our related permit classes (VA, DC, MD)

  • Leave with a list of drills and a simple plan to run at home

What makes 1:1 training different from a group class

Group classes are great for reps. One-on-one pistol coaching is about you. Your hand size. Your holster. Your pace. In a private block, we can fix small errors that slow you down: weak support hand, late trigger prep, or sight dips you don’t feel yet. The wins stack fast. You’ll see it in your timer and your target.

My opinion: most shooters don’t need more gear. They need clean grip and trigger work, plus a few short drills that they actually run each week. Keep it simple. Keep it honest. Track it.

How we serve beyond the range

2) Self-defense school

Guns are one slice. We teach a full situational awareness course for daily life—Old Town weekends, Fairfax Corner at night, and U Street after a show. We coach posture, path picks, door control, car approach, and simple de-escalation. This grows confidence under stress—even if you’re not carrying.

3) Emergency training school

We pair pistol skills with emergency medical / TCCC basics. You learn bleeding control, airway steps, and how to stage a tiny car kit. We talk medical considerations / TCCC phases in plain talk. I tell students, “A light and a tourniquet help more people, more often.” We also show you where to file or check local reports after an event—PWC Police online reporting is a good tool. Prince William County Government

4) Training center

Think of us as your year-round training center. Start with beginner handgun safety & shooting. Layer intermediate pistol skills and defensive pistol training. Add virtual range simulator drills on bad-weather days. Stay steady with monthly skill-building classes, skills check & progress tracking, and community board access. Members follow our A Year of Training calendar & drills inside the Tactical Membership Program (Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum).

5) Consultant

Need a custom plan for your space? We consult on workplace violence prevention, corporate risk mitigation training, and church safety team program setup. We walk your floor plan, mark low-light problem spots, plan routes to parking, design stress-tested drills, and coach leaders. If your team moves across VA–DC–MD, we give travel rules, checklists, and official links so staff can verify on their own. (For DC data snapshots before big events, we like MPD’s Daily Crime at a Glance and the DC Crime Dashboard.)

FAQs (short and clear)

Do I need prior experience?
No. This is beginner friendly. We start slow and build clean reps.

How long is the session?
Most blocks are 60–90 minutes. We stack sessions for faster gains.

What should I bring?
ID, water, note gear, eye/ear pro, and your pistol/holster if you have one. We’ll send a short list.

Classroom vs range time?
Both. We run classroom + live-fire options and can split the day.

Private vs group training?
Private coaching is best for speed and custom needs. Group blocks are great for reps and group discount pricing.

Where can I carry in DC/MD/VA?
Use official pages: VSP reciprocity (VA), MPD CCL (DC), MSP Wear & Carry (MD). We’ll show you how to check in 60 seconds before a trip.
